Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Adrian Peterson won't be the only All-Pro running back to hit the market next month.

The Kansas City Chiefs also cut Jamaal Charles Tuesday, according to reports. Charles, 30, played nine season for the Chiefs. He earned All-Pro nods in 2010 and 2013, but played in just eight games over the last two seasons. Charles made the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in 2014, after amassing 1,324 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns.

The move saves the Chiefs $6.2 million in salary cap space.

ESPN's Tim McManus reported last week that the Philadelphia Eagles could be an option for Charles, talking up his relationship with current Eagles coach and former Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson.

The Chiefs signed C.J. Spiller last week to work along with starter Spencer Ware. Wendell Smallwood and Darren Sproles remain in the Eagles' running back stable if Ryan Mathews does not return to the franchise following an injury marred 2016 campaign.

The Eagles have a little less than $10 million in cap space.
