Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Curing the Cleveland Browns' quarterback dilemma could be one of the toughest jobs in the NFL.

David Lee will be tasked with coaching the position in 2017. The Browns hired the 63-year-old Wednesday. Lee spent his last two seasons coaching quarterbacks for the Buffalo Bills. He has coached at the college level for 30 years and in the NFL for 12 years. He coached quarterbacks for the New York Jets in 2013 and 2014, Miami Dolphins from 2008 through 2010 and the Dallas Cowboys from 2005 through 2006.

"David Lee has been an outstanding teacher at the quarterback position on both the NFL and collegiate level," Browns coach Hue Jackson told the team website. "He's had success at every stop during his coaching career and has worked with quarterbacks with a wide range of skillsets. We look forward to him helping us improve our quarterback room."

Lee debuted in the NFL in 2003 as an offensive quality control coach with the Cowboys. He helped tutor Tony Romo into becoming a Pro Bowl quarterback in 2006 after welcoming him in 2003 as an undrafted free agent. He has also worked with Tyrod Taylor, Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chad Henne, Chad Pennington, Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testaverde, and Quincy Carter during his career.

The Browns have been linked to bringing in Taylor to compete for the position and could still select a top prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft to be under center.
