HOUSTON -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finished second to Matt Ryan in Most Valuable Player voting.
Brady was suspended the first four games of the season for his role in Deflategate. He had 28 touchdown passes and two interceptions, going 11-1 as a starter and guiding the Patriots to their seventh Super Bowl.
Ryan tallied 25 votes to 10 for Brady, and Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott tied for third with Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr six votes.
Elliott finished second in NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting to teammate Dak Prescott.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers received two votes. Prescott received one vote for MVP.
