A source told the Seattle Times that the decision to leave was Seto's, and that he has wanted to enter the ministry for some time.

Seto, who is a Christian, was an assistant under Pete Carroll at USC and became part of Carroll's staff in Seattle as a quality control coach on defense in 2010.

In 2015, after Kris Richard took over as defensive coordinator, Seto was named assistant head coach for defense.

Seto was responsible for implementing the tackling style that has been so successful.

Seto is married and has four children.

Seto's specific role on the team has not yet been replaced, but the Seahawks did hire Clint Hurtt as a defensive line coach last week.
