Philip Rivers is thrilled that he was added to the AFC roster for Sunday's Pro Bowl on Tuesday.

Rivers replaces Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and he summed up his excitement this way:

"I made this team as a San Diego Charger," Rivers said. "That's cool."

The Chargers recently relocated to Los Angeles and Rivers was initially against the move when it started picking up steam two years ago. He established deep roots in San Diego during his 13 seasons with the Chargers.

Rivers passed for 4,286 yards and 33 touchdowns this season, but also led the NFL with 21 interceptions.

This marks the sixth time Rivers has been selected for the Pro Bowl. He played in three games (2009, 2010, 2011) and pulled out twice (2006, 2013).

Roethlisberger pulled out due to the ankle injury he suffered earlier this month against the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers lost to the New England Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship Game and Roethlisberger said Tuesday that he will consider retirement.
