Atlanta Falcons lose DE Adrian Clayborn for rest of postseason

The Atlanta Falcons lost veteran defensive end Adrian Clayborn for the remainder of the playoffs after he suffered a torn biceps in the 36-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC divisional playoff game on Saturday.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Clayborn was injured early in the game and did not return after halftime.

"I feel absolutely terrible for my man @AJaClay," his agent Blake Baratz wrote on Twitter. "Keep your head up. You were a huge part of this success. I'm so proud of you Adrian."

Clayborn, in his second season with the Falcons, finished second on the team with 4.5 sacks in 13 games. He missed three games because of a knee injury.

Clayborn, 28, spent his first four seasons in Tampa Bay, racking up 13 sacks.

The Falcons advanced to the NFC Championship Game next Sunday against the winner of the divisional game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.
