RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise could return to the lineup this Saturday after missing the last seven weeks with a fractured scapula.

Prosise was able to practice for the first time on Tuesday since suffering the injury in a mid-November game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was in a red "no-contact" jersey to keep him from taking unnecessary punishment in practice as he continues to heal.

"He's going to work through the week. He was out there in the walk-through today and will get to practice this afternoon to see what he can do," head coach Pete Carroll said.

Prosise has had four separate injuries that have derailed his rookie season. He dealt with a hip flexor issue in OTAs, a strained hamstring in training camp and broke a bone in his wrist in the season opener against Miami.

The wrist injury forced Prosise to miss four games before slowly working back into the lineup. He supplanted Christine Michael as Seattle's starting running back in a Week 10 victory over the New England Patriots when he totaled 153 total yards on offense.

He added a 72-yard touchdown run against the Eagles the following week before being injured late in the second quarter. It took Prosise three weeks of recovery before he could begin running again.

Carroll implied that if Prosise isn't fully healthy, they'll hold him out against the Falcons.

"He's going to have to go full speed and let it rip," Carroll said. "If he's holding back, he won't play."

Prosise had 369 total yards over the four games preceding his injury against the Eagles. He rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries and caught 16 passes for 195 yards.

"You saw what we were able to do with him the little bit that we've had him," offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. "He's a special player. He has his own element that he can add to us."
