Dennis Pitta enjoys bounce-back year with Baltimore Ravens

There were many questions surrounding Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta entering the season.

Pitta has dealt with two season-ending hip injuries over his six-year career and there was some speculation he might retire.

Instead, Pitta played in all 16 games this season and finished with a career-high 729 yards. He set a franchise record for receptions by a tight end with 86.

Pitta could be a major part of the offense again next season.

"It's definitely something that I'll be proud of because of my situation prior to this year," Pitta said. "There was definitely a time when I did not think I would be playing this year. To be able to finish this season healthy and be able to accomplish some of the personal things will make it special for me. But it's a team sport so there's definitely a bad taste in the mouth, especially with the way we ended it."
