RENTON, Wash. -- Despite a bruised shoulder that forced him to the bench for the second half of last week's game, running back Thomas Rawls is practicing and expected to play in Sunday's season finale against the San Francisco 49ers.

"What bothered him is very slight and he should be fine," coach Pete Carroll said.

It's a good thing for Seattle, which doesn't have much depth behind him at this point in the season.

Alex Collins played a season-high 43 snaps last week against the Arizona Cardinals. It was his most extensive action this season. The only other reserve active was Terrence Magee, who had just been signed off the Cleveland Browns' practice squad last week.

Seattle worked out five running backs on Tuesday: Jonas Gray, Dan Herron, LaMichael James, Stevan Ridley and Dominique Williams. However, none have been signed to the roster at this point. J.D. McKissic and fullback Marcel Reece could also factor into the rotation in the backfield.

C.J. Prosise is progressing in his recovery from a fractured scapula suffered in November, but he's still not expected to have a realistic shot at returning for at least two more weeks.
