Fantasy Football: Washington Redskins "plan" to play Jordan Reed

By Alex Butler

LANDOVER, Md., Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Even if the Washington Redskins do end up using Jordan Reed in its Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears, he is shaky at best for fantasy football purposes.

The perennial TE1 was ejected from the Redskins' Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers after throwing a punch. Reed has been playing at less than 100 percent due to a separated shoulder.

"Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the plan as of now will be to play TE Jordan Reed Vs. Chicago," ESPN's John Keim reported. "Reed's injured left shoulder clearly bothered him Monday night before his ejection for fighting. But Gruden said if after talking to Reed they feel it's holding him back too much then he might sit."

He has 61 receptions for 646 yards and five scores on the season, but is virtually unusable this week in the fantasy football championship. If you have Reed on your team, look for other options.

Reed signed a six-year, $48 million contract in May. His deal includes $22 million guaranteed. He was elected to his first Pro Bowl Tuesday. The Redskins face the Bears at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve at Soldier Field.
