Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson may need foot surgery

By The Sports Xchange

Chicago Bears receiver Marquess Wilson fractured his left foot for the third time in a span of 12 1/2 months and will miss the rest of the season, coach John Fox announced on Friday.

Wilson suffered the latest injury in a practice earlier this week and is expected to be placed on injured reserve prior to Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

"They're still evaluating if he needs surgery," Fox told reporters. "It is the same basic injury. They don't know the exact extent, but it is re-broken and they're still evaluating."

Wilson first broke the foot in a practice on Dec. 2, 2015, and missed the final five games of the season. He underwent surgery to repair it.

Six months later, he again fractured the foot during minicamp. He again underwent surgery and was on the physically unable to perform list until Chicago activated him in late November.

In his second game back from the injury, Wilson eight passes for 125 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. He missed last Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions due to a groin injury.

Wilson has 56 catches for 777 yards and three touchdowns in 31 career games for the Bears.

Wilson won't be the only receiver on the sidelines for Chicago. The club ruled veteran Eddie Royal (toe) out of the game versus Green Bay.

Defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (ankle) and cornerbacks Bryce Callahan (knee) and Johnthan Banks (ankle) are listed as questionable.
