The Baltimore Ravens ruled out cornerback Jimmy Smith for Sunday's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to an ankle injury.

Smith missed his third consecutive practice on Friday. He suffered a right ankle sprain while making a tackle near the goal line late in the first quarter of Monday night's 30-23 loss at the New England Patriots.

Smith needed help getting off the field at Gillette Stadium and was carted to the locker room.

With Smith out, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady exploited the Ravens and finished 25-of-38 passing for 406 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.

"He has (made progress), but I just don't want to get into all of the injury stuff," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Smith after Friday's practice, via the Baltimore Sun. "I probably won't say much for the rest of the year unless it's an obvious thing. The other guys are getting ready to play this week, and going forward, we'll just have to see where we're at."

Ravens cornerback Jerraud Powers, who is behind Smith on the team's unofficial depth chart, is listed as questionable for Sunday due to a concussion.

Cornerback Shareece Wright, who has struggled for much of the season, took the majority of reps opposite rookie Tavon Young after Smith left the game against the Patriots.

Tight end Crockett Gillmore (pulled hamstring), safety Anthony Levine Sr. (toe) and guard Alex Lewis (high right ankle sprain) were listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.
