SAN DIEGO, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- If Melvin Gordon is on your fantasy football team, your season is probably over.

But if you somehow managed to advance into the final four of the playoffs, you need to keep him on your bench, or drop him if you have to. Gordon was carted off of the football field last Sunday after suffering multiple injuries. His early exit meant minimal production from your RB1 lineup spot.

The San Diego Chargers running back is "highly unlikely" to suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Oakland Raiders, according to coach Mike McCoy. Rookie Kenneth Farrow is expected to start against the Raiders and is a borderline RB2 in a good matchup.

Gordon told Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune that he's "aiming for next week."

"I'm recovering a lot faster than I thought I would," Gordon told Gehlken.

The second-year running back was having his best season, before suffering knee and hip injuries in Week 14. He is dealing with a knee sprain and hip sprain. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday afternoon that there "remains a chance" Gordon returns this season. There is also a chance that the Chargers shut down the talented youngster, as it slips out of the playoff picture.

Gordon, 23, had 1,416 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns on 295 touches before going down.

The Chargers [5-8] kickoff against the Raiders [10-3] at 4:25 p.m. Sunday from Qualcomm Stadium.
