EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants running back Shane Vereen's return from injured reserve was a brief one.

Vereen, activated this week off injured reserve where he had been following a torn triceps muscle suffered in Week 3, suffered a concussion in the second quarter of the Giants' home game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night.

Vereen had caught one of two pass targets for 10 yards prior to exiting the game. He had also resumed his role on the Giants' third-down package prior to the injury.

The Giants continued the game rotating Rashad Jennings and Paul Perkins in at running back.
