The productive run of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce continued on Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders.

Kelce caught five passes for 101 yards, his fourth consecutive game with at least 100 yards. He became the second receiver in Chiefs history to string together four straight. The other was also a tight end, Tony Gonzalez during the 2000 season.

Kelce also joins Gonzalez and current Seattle tight end Jimmy Graham as the only tight ends in the last 50 years of NFL play to have 100 yards or more in four straight games. Graham did it twice with New Orleans in 2011 and 2013.

"'I'm still a kid when it comes to loving the heroes of my generation," said Kelce. "Tony was one of them. I'm fortunate enough to have his number in my phone and I try to text him every now and then when I need advice. To be in company with him, it means a lot."

Over the last four games, Kelce grabbed seven passes for 108 yards against Tampa Bay, eight for 101 yards versus Denver, eight for 140 yards against Atlanta and then his night against Oakland.

"I expect to have 100 or 200 yards every game," Kelce said with a laugh. "I go in hoping the game plan we put together is on point, and it was just like it always is."

One play against the Raiders stood out for quarterback Alex Smith. The Chiefs were backed up deep in their own territory (7-yard line), and the play call was a post pattern to Kelce down the middle of the field.

"It was kind of a back shoulder throw there," said Smith. "He was running by a safety and made a great play on the ball. He's a guy with a lot of tools. It starts with that, and him working hard."

Through 13 games, Kelce caught 70 passes for 916 yards, leading Kansas City in both catches and receiving yards. He goes into this weekend's NFL action as the leading receiver among tight ends, with nine more catches than Carolina's Greg Olsen and Baltimore's Dennis Pitta.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is not one to pump up a player's ego during the season. He always believes so much more is possible.

"It's important that he just stays on top of it; he can even do better," said Reid. "There were some plays there that he wished he'd have back. That's a positive thing."
