The New York Jets re-signed running back Khiry Robinson on Wednesday, a day after waiving veteran C.J. Spiller.

The 6-foot, 220-pound Robinson was the Jets' first signing of this year's unrestricted free agency period on March 11. The fourth-year back, who signed with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent after the 2013 draft out of West Texas A&M, came to the Jets after rehabbing a tibia fracture suffered midway through the 2015 season.

Robinson finally got into the final preseason game at Philadelphia, but he reinjured his leg and was waived with an injury designation on Sept. 4.

Robinson played in 28 games (three starts) in his three seasons with the Saints, rushing for 766 yards and eight touchdowns along with 25 receptions for 178 yards.

The Jets also promoted running back Brandon Wilds from the practice squad.

The 6-0, 220-pound Wilds was signed to the Jets' practice squad on Sept. 26. He was signed as an undrafted free agent with Atlanta out of South Carolina after this year's draft and led the Falcons in the preseason with 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns before being waived at the final cutdown.

Defensive lineman Claude Pelon was re-signed to the Jets' practice squad.

The 6-4, 300-pound Pelon was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of the USC after the draft before being a final cut. He was first signed to the practice squad the next day, then released 11 days later.
