CINCINNATI -- Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has missed two games with a strained right hamstring but is not expected to return Sunday against AFC North rival Cleveland.

Green worked out on the rehab field during Cincinnati's practice on Wednesday. He was injured on the second play from scrimmage Nov. 20 against the Buffalo Bills.

While Green said last week the injury was "not bad" his injury was considered a severe muscle strain. Green vowed to be back on the field this season.

Head coach Marvin Lewis would only say that Green was "doing well," but there was no indication whether he'll be ready to play on Sunday when the Bengals travel to Cleveland to face former offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, now the head coach of the 0-12 Browns.

Green is 36 receiving yards short of joining Randy Moss as the only NFL Players with 1,000 or more yards in their first six seasons.
