JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas was not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos due to his back injury.

Doubtful to play after missing practice throughout the week, Thomas missed his second straight game and third of the season.

Nagging injuries have contributed to a down season for Thomas, who was signed away from the Broncos as the Jaguars' prized free agent prior to last season.

Thomas leads all tight ends with 33 receiving touchdowns since the start of the 2013 season but has been limited to 30 catches for 281 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Ben Koyack and Neal Sterling were expected to see more snaps in place of Thomas and previously injured tight end Marcedes Lewis, who is on injured reserve.

The Jaguars also will be without running back Chris Ivory and receiver Allen Hurns. Each have hamstring injuries.
