"Davante's playing his best football of his career," McCarthy said.
Adams' production so far this season is the proof.
On the heels of his stellar prime-time performance against the Eagles, during which he had five receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns, Adams is merely padding his career-best numbers. He has 58 catches for 776 yards and eight touchdowns with five games still to go.
Adams already has exceeded his previous top numbers from his second pro season in 2015: 50 catches for 483 yards and a touchdown, when he played just 13 games in the regular season after missing time with an ankle injury.
"Davante's been making a lot of plays," quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. "This is not surprising to me. He's done it in practice, he's healthy this year, and he's been a big weapon for us."
--The Houston Texans come to Green Bay on Sunday for the first time since 2008.
That season, which was Rodgers' first as the Packers' starter behind center, the Texans eked out a 24-21 win at Lambeau Field on a last-second field goal.
The Texans are one of only three teams against which the Packers don't have a home win when Rodgers starts. Green Bay also lost its lone game at Lambeau against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins.
