Fantasy Football: Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge tweaks knee

By Alex Butler

CLEVELAND, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Gary Barnidge disappointed fantasy football team owners Sunday when he had just one catch for 11 yards.

Even more disappointing is the news that the Cleveland Browns tight end suffered an injury. Browns coach Hue Jackson said Monday that Barnidge saw a reduction in snaps Sunday because he "tweaked his knee."

"He had a little tweak of the knee," Jackson told reporters. "It happened during the game. I wanted to make sure we didn't overwork him. We kind of rotated him a little bit, trying to make sure we looked out for his health."

The good news is that the Browns have a Week 13 bye, giving Barnidge time to heal up in time for the playoffs if you have been counting on him. Barnidge has caught seven of his 10 touchdowns during the last two seasons from quarterback Josh McCown, with his first of the season coming in Week 11. He has been a streaming option the entire season, racking up 40 receptions for 468 yards.

If you need the roster spot and there are better options available, drop Barnidge. No other teams in your league are likely to pick him up, as he is not going to play next week. The Browns face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, before battling the Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers.
