ATLANTA -- Cleveland didn't have room for Taylor Gabriel and the Atlanta Falcons are certainly glad that the winless Browns didn't.

"Man, did he come up big for us today," Falcons coach Dan Quinn said.

The speedy 5-foot-8 wide receiver raced 35 and 25 yards with screen passes from Matt Ryan in the Falcons' 38-19 victory over the Arizona Cardinals and has touchdowns in three of the past four games.

"It makes your job pretty easy as a quarterback to just flick it out there and then watch," Matt Ryan said. "He made great individual plays on both of those to get in the end zone."

Gabriel, claimed by the Falcons off waivers from the Browns before the start of the season, had 75 yards on his four catches against the Cardinals and also gained 27 yards on a reverse.

"I thought I could do. I've put in the work," said Gabriel, who plays at Abilene Christian. "I'm just thankful for the opportunity."

The Browns didn't give him that chance.

"Of course, I have a chip on my shoulder," Gabriel said as he was surrounded by the media in the locker room. "I'm shorter then all you guys, so I have to play with a chip on my shoulder. I have to give it everything I have.

"I'm confident in what I can do, but I have to go out there and show people what I can do on a weekly basis. It's great to get a chance to show off my talents."

--Cornerback Patrick Peterson was in pain as he struggled to get dressed in the Arizona locker room after injuring his left knee in the loss to the Falcons.

"It's hurting. I don't know what the diagnosis is right now," Peterson said. "I can't put too much pressure on it. We'll see what the doctors say. ... But it is painful."

Peterson was hurt late in the second quarter when Julio Jones' heel struck him on the knee, but he played most of the rest of the game.

Matched up against Jones, Peterson was called for two pass interference penalties early in the game and voiced his displeasure to the officials.

"Just allow us to play football," Peterson said. "We're both All-Pros and play a physical game of football. I told the refs that before the game. Just let us play. But it is what it is."

--Matt Wile, filling in for Matt Bosher, boomed his first NFL punt 59 yards and followed that with a 57-yarder.

Wile, who also kicked off against the Cardinals, was signed Tuesday after it was determined that Bosher's hamstring, injured against Philadelphia, wasn't healed enough despite the bye week.

"We worked the entire week on little things, plus 50 punts," Quinn said. "We were really pleased. ... He did a nice job on his first time with the quickness. They have a good special teams outfit."

Wile, who played for Michigan, wasn't drafted in 2015 and had spent time in camp with Carolina and Dallas.

--The Cardinals shuffled their offensive line against the Falcons after a major breakdown in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings and the change was mostly positive, especially early.

"I thought the young offensive line played really well until they were put in situation where it was pass, pass, pass," coach Bruce Arians said.

Ulrick John, who played in the Georgia Dome for Georgia State, got his first NFL start, taking over at right tackle.

D.J. Humphries moved to left tackle and John Wetzel switched from tackle to right guard.

Quarterback Carson Palmer was sacked twice, while the Cardinals got to Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan three times.
