Buffalo Bills right tackle Seantrel Henderson, who started the season with a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, could be missing more time.

Henderson, 24, is facing a second NFL suspension this season, the Buffalo News reported Thursday.

Henderson was not on the field for practice Thursday morning, but Bills coach Rex Ryan said Henderson was excused.

"Personal thing. It's not medical or anything like that. So he's fine. He's excused," Ryan said.

Ryan was asked about the Buffalo News report that Henderson is facing another drug policy suspension.

"I'm not aware of that. I'm not saying that's not the case, but I'm not aware of that," Ryan said.

A league source told the newspaper that Henderson missed practice for a doctor's appointment on Thanksgiving in relation to his ongoing battle with Crohn's disease. Henderson said previously the reason for the suspension was his use of medicinal marijuana to treat the disease.

"I've got doctors telling me this is the No. 1 medicine that would help your disease," Henderson said last month. "You try to tell that to the league and it seems like they didn't care too much."
