Decker's wife broke the news of the latest surgery over social media on Tuesday, sharing a picture of her husband in hospital clothing. An eight-month recovery for a torn rotator cuff is expected for Decker, who would be sidelined through the team's offseason workouts.

The 29-year-old Decker, who has a base salary of $7.25 million in 2017, caught nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns in three games this season. He hurt the shoulder in the second contest of the season against the Buffalo Bills.

Decker has 163 receptions for 2,183 yards and 19 touchdowns in 33 games for the Jets since joining the organization prior to the 2014 season.
