The winless Cleveland Browns are not going anywhere this season, but some encouraging news has surfaced.

It's possible that quarterback Robert Griffin III may return this season, even if the games mean nothing.

Griffin has not played since fracturing his shoulder in the first game of the season. Since then, Josh McCown, Cody Kessler, Kevin Hogan and Charlie Whitehurst have taken snaps for the Browns.

However, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that Griffin has never lost hope about playing again this season. Furthermore, Browns head of football operations Sashi Brown said Griffin is on track to make that return before the season ends.

The Browns even have had discussions about the possibility of Griffin returning to practice this week, according to a report by ESPN's Josina Anderson.

The Browns are 0-10 and don't want to be the first winless team since the Detroit Lions went 0-16 in 2008. Perhaps the team believes having Griffin back on the field will enable the Browns to win a game or two.

"You've just got to focus on what you can control and really these guys, seeing how hard they work every day, day in and day out, even though the record doesn't reflect that, I know the city's disappointed and these guys in this locker room are disappointed as well," Griffin said, according to Cleveland.com. "But we've got six games left this year, a chance to finish strong, and if I get a chance to be a part of that, I definitely want to."
