HOUSTON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien said that running back Lamar Miller is a game-time decision for a Week 8 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

On Friday, Miller said he expects to play, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop.

"Texans running back Lamar Miller (shoulder) said he expects to be out there for Sunday's game against the Lions, but isn't positive how much he will play. He injured his shoulder on Monday night against the Broncos and was in and out of the game," Barshop tweeted.

Miller has 581 yards and a touchdown on 136 carries this season. He also has 20 receptions for 117 yards and a receiving score. If Miller can't go against the Lions, expect Alfred Blue to produce RB2 numbers.

With six teams on a bye this week, Miller would normally be a shoe-in RB1, but I expect mid-level RB2 production if he plays through a shoulder injury. The Lions are the only team in the league to have not allowed a rushing touchdown this season to a running back.

Miller was day-to-day this week at practice, but O'Brien told Texans Radio's Deepi Sidhu that he was "encouraged" by the running back's progress.
