BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Despite a nagging foot injury, it looks like Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins will play on Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets.

"Bills WR Sammy Watkins, listed as questionable for tonight vs. Jets with foot injury, "wants to play and probably will", per league source," ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted Thursday morning.

Watkins is playing on a short week against star Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. But Revis wasn't himself in Week 1, when Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver beat him for 12 receptions, 180 yards, and a touchdown. Watkins had just four receptions for 43 yards in Buffalo's Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

On Wednesday, Watkins was listed as questionable. On Tuesday, ABC Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia reported that it is "not a sure thing" that Watkins suits up for Thursday's primetime match-up.

Watkins, 23, had 14 receptions for 150 yards in two games in 2015 against the Jets. He had 11 of those grabs when Buffalo hosted the Jets in Week 17. The Bills battle the Jets at 8:25 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Stadium. I expect Watkins to put up WR2 numbers this week and to still have a WR1 ceiling. He does come with some risk however, giving him a low floor.
