SEATTLE, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- In another edition of murky NFL backfields, the Seattle Seahawks re-named Thomas Rawls as its starter heading into Week 2.

Rawls, who is coming back from a 2015 ankle injury, played behind Christine Michael in the Seahawks' Week 1 win against the Miami Dolphins. But Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was firm in his statement about who would carry the load this weekend, when he named Rawls the starter.

"Yes, Thomas will get more work," Carroll said in his Wednesday press conference. "Matter of fact, Thomas will start this week."

The Seahawks battle the Los Angeles Rams at 4:05 p.m. Sunday. Rawls carried 12 times for 32 yards and had three catches for 26 yards in Week 1. Michael had 15 carries for 66 yards and two receptions for five yards in the victory.

Seattle's schedule to start the season is not very strong. Expect one of these backs to break out at some point. It doesn't come without risk, but I would consider Rawls a low-end RB2 this week and a flex starter in deeper leagues. Michael's value is now severely limited and he should be on your roster for depth or as a Rawls handcuff.
