SEATTLE -- Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson could miss time with a significant ankle injury.

NFL Network first reported Monday that Wilson's injury was more severe than Wilson indicated Sunday, when limped through the twisted ankle sustained early in the second half to lead Seattle on a game-winning drive.

"When I'm 43, 44 years old and still playing, that's probably what I'll look like out there," Wilson said. "We had to find a way to win."

Wilson was hurt when he was trying to avoid a Ndamukong Suh sack, only to have the big defensive lineman inadvertently catch Wilson's ankle under his foot, twisting it.

"It feels a little sore, but I'll be all right," Wilson said after the game. "A little ice, a little prayer, a little treatment. ... I'll be all right. I'll be ready to roll."

Wilson left the stadium in a boot but was also photographed at a restaurant, as opposed to sitting at home with his foot elevated.

Wide receiver Doug Baldwin caught the game-winning touchdown and was unwilling to rule Wilson out for Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams.

A high ankle sprain could limit Wilson and require 2-4 weeks to fully recover.

"Russell Wilson has the propensity to do miraculous things," Baldwin said.

If Wilson can't play in the NFC West opener, the Seahawks would go with backup Trevone Boykin. Boykin was not roundly endorsed by head coach Pete Carroll, who late in the preseason at Oakland was critical of Boykin's ability to lead a huddle and get plays out correctly.

The undrafted rookie from TCU is the only other quarterback on the 53-man roster and Seattle did not elect to keep a quarterback on the 10-man practice squad.
