Gordon was suspended 10 games in 2014 and all of last season by the NFL. He was reinstated prior to training camp and will play in the preseason game against the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday (8 p.m. ET). He missed the first two preseason games with a quadriceps injury.
"He's talented, obviously," coach Hue Jackson said. "The more I can see him and feel him before he will be away and not able to do that, the more I can understand when he gets back and he can hit the ground running the right way."
Gordon is suspended for the first four games of the season.
-- The Browns and Buccaneers practiced together Tuesday and Wednesday in Florida. The heat index was 109 degrees on Tuesday and 104 on Wednesday.
"I don't know if I learned anything new," Jackson said after the Wednesday practice in shells. "What I was most excited about was how they fought. They fought hard. The elements were hot, it was tough, it was a whole different schedule doing things. I wanted it to be that way. I wanted to get away from the routine."
The Browns practice in the afternoon when they are at their training facility. The joint practices were in the morning.
-- Rookie wide receiver Corey Coleman missed the first two preseason games with a hamstring injury. He will play Friday.
"I feel really good," Coleman said. "We took it slow easing me back in, but now I'm full speed, full go. I still have room to improve, but overall, I think I came here and did my job, got back into great shape out here and just competing with the guys at a high level."
Coleman was nagged by soft tissue injuries at Baylor.
-- Defensive back Jamar Taylor is taking reps as the starting right cornerback. He picked off a pass from Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon in practice Tuesday. He could be the nickel back if he does not beat out Tramon Williams for the starting right cornerback job.
