LANDOVER, Md., July 18 (UPI) -- Robert Griffin III is no longer in Washington and Kirk Cousins wasn't locked up long-term before Friday's deadline.

Now, Washington is looking for a back up quarterback to share a clipboard with Colt McCoy.

Washington worked out free agent Jimmy Clausen Monday, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Clausen, 28, is one of the top remaining free agent quarterbacks that has experience as a starter. He completed 72-of-125 passes last season for 739 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions, for the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens. He started three games in 2015.

Washington signed McCoy to a three-year, $9 million contract in March. It also drafted Nate Sudfeld in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.
