DENVER, July 15 (UPI) -- Their eyes bulged at the free agency dollars handed out by the NBA this summer, but now it's the NFL players' time to cash in.
One of the biggest story lines has focused on Super Bowl 50 MVP and Denver Broncos defensive dynamo Von Miller. Miller threatened to sit out the 2016 season if he wasn't signed long-term. He vowed that he wouldn't play under the franchise tag.
Miller rejected previous offers from the Broncos before finally agreeing to a deal Friday. His NFL brethren took notice of the $70 million guaranteed contract.
"Very well deserved. Congrats @Millerlite40!," Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt tweeted.
"58 Back @Millerlite40 leggo #noflyzone #allSacks," Broncos defensive back Chris Harris tweeted.
"Congrats my dog @Millerlite40!! 2011 draft class legendary," New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram tweeted.
"Get paid my brother," Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley tweeted.
Mike Evans, Omar Bolden, Charles James, Anthony Barr, David Bruton Jr., Cam Heyward, Fletcher Cox, Ezekiel Ansah, Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Ward, Paxton Lynch, and John Elway also congratulated Miller on Twitter.
