NEW ORLEANS, July 14 (UPI) -- New Orleans has just one wide receiver over the age of 24-years-old.

That means signing Anquan Boldin would surely bring a veteran presence to the bayou.

According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the Saints are "making the strongest push to sign him and he loves ex-49ers, now New Orleans, wide receivers coach John Morton.

The 35-year-old regressed last season, grabbing 69 receptions for 789 yards and four touchdowns for the San Francisco 49ers.

He has 1,009 receptions for 13,195 yards and 74 touchdowns over a 13-year career. Boldin signed with San Francisco in 2013. He was rumored to be connected with the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions. Last week, Lions general manager Bob Quinn said there was a "chance" the team would sign Boldin.
