BUFFALO, N.Y., June 15 (UPI) -- Not at the table, Karlos.

The Buffalo Bills sent that message to second-year running back Karlos Williams Tuesday, when he showed up overweight at the team's mandatory minicamp.

It's never a good sign when a young player shows a lack of self-discipline in the NFL.

Williams will be limited this week, partaking in conditioning. He is listed at 230 pounds.

The Florida State product had an interesting rationale for his off-season bloat.

"I like to eat and then her being pregnant gave me an excuse to eat, so eating anything and everything," Williams said, according to ESPN. "She'd wake up, one or two o'clock, 'I want a snack.' Well I'm not going to sit here and watch you eat because I don't want you to feel bad, but it's back to football. She's getting back to working out herself, so kind of motivating each other, feed off each other's energy, and we're getting ready for camp."

Williams welcomed a baby boy last month.

"We're not going to put a ridiculous weight number on him to get him back," coach Rex Ryan told reporters. "But what you don't want to do where he all of a sudden drops 20 pounds and he comes out here and gets hurt the first day of training camp. That's what we're trying to avoid. So we've got to get him to do the right things now. Obviously he's not anywhere close to where he needs to be to play at a high level. So we've got to get some weight off him and he understands that."

Ryan said the Bills have plans in place to get Williams back in playing-shape. Williams plans to work with the strength and conditioning staff for the next few weeks, following the conclusion of minicamp Thursday.

Williams, 23, had a fantastic rookie season. He scored nine times and had 613 yards from scrimmage, looking like an apt fill-in for LeSean McCoy.

Williams signed a four-year, $2.4 million deal in May 2015.
