Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos trade tackles on Twitter

OAKLAND, Calif., May 18 (UPI) -- With a young and talented roster, the Oakland Raiders are closing the gap on the Denver Broncos.

According to the Raiders Twitter account, the team has already surpassed the Super Bowl champs in some ways.

The NFL tweeted "The @Broncos D? It currently rules the AFC West."

On Wednesday morning, the Raiders responded with "Ruled*"

But almost two hours later, the Broncos responded with a laughing face and pictures of its front office and coaching staff laughing in a room, as the tweet was Photoshopped into the background.

Later, the Raiders fired back with a video its defensive stars flexing their muscles.

The series was split last season, with the Broncos taking a week five contest and Raiders winning a week 14 bout.

The division rivals face-off Nov. 6 in Oakland and Jan. 1 in Denver.
