LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- He might have cracked the Sunday roster at the end of last season, but Nick Toon won't be flashing his skills for the Rams in Los Angeles.

The Rams released Toon Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The wide receiver spent most of the 2015 season on the team's practice squad, but was called up in January.

Toon, 27, has 21 receptions for 283 yards and one touchdown in 17 career games. He failed to make a catch in 2015. The New Orleans Saints selected Toon in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Toon had modest stats in his first three seasons at Wisconsin, before exploding for 64 receptions, 926 yards, and 10 touchdowns in his senior campaign.
