Panthers' Cameron Artis-Payne arrested for speeding 102 mph

Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne was arrested Sunday morning for speeding and reckless driving after being clocked driving 102 mph.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the arrest took place in Gaston County (N.C.) at approximately 1:30 a.m. Artis-Payne was driving in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 85.

"He was very polite and cooperative during the whole process," North Carolina state trooper Brian Huffstickler told the newspaper.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor, Huffstickler said.

Artis-Payne, 25, was in jail for about 30 minutes before being released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Artis-Payne was a fifth-round pick by the Panthers last year. He ran 45 times for 183 yards and a touchdown in seven games during his rookie season.
