Justin Tuck to sign one-day deal with New York Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Former New York Giants great Justin Tuck will re-sign with the team briefly before retirement.

Tuck, 32, announced his retirement on Feb. 1. Tuck was selected No. 74 overall by the Giants in the 2005 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. He played for the Giants, winning two Super Bowls from 2005 to 2013. Tuck joined the Oakland Raiders in 2014. Tuck tallied 66.5 sacks and 20 forced fumbles in 147 career games. Tuck talked about the move on Big Blue Kickoff Live.

"One question we didn't get asked that I've seen a lot of Giants fans Tweet me is 'Am I going to do a one-day contract with the Giants?" Tuck told the New York Daily News. "The answer to that is 'Yes.' We can't do it yet because the league (year) doesn't open until the second week of March. So for all the Giants fans out there asking me 'Am I going to retire a Giant?' Absolutely I am."

Tuck was selected for two Pro Bowls and was once voted as a first-team All-Pro.
