NEW YORK, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Iconic athletes appear all over the map when it comes to supporting the next president. While basketball legend Charles Barkley takes on Donald Trump and his "loser" supporters, former football great Herschel Walker says Trump will "save America."

Walker, 53, talked to TMZ Sports on Monday.
"Look, we can't build a wall and not let people in the country," Walker told TMZ Sports. "But we do have to get this country safe. We have to quit being politically correct."
"We have to do what's right to save America...I guarantee you [Donald] would do better than a lot of people in office now. That I can tell you for a fact."

"Donald has said what he's said, but his numbers haven't gone down. That's a sign he is saying the things that people think, but are afraid to say themselves. Donald is saying what people want to hear."
After President Barack Obama's Dec. 6 speech, Trump tweeted: "Obama said in his speech that Muslims are our sports heroes. What sport is he talking about, and who? Is Obama profiling?"
The Trump tweet triggered responses from around the sports world, including a New York Daily News article listing a list of 10. The Daily News list included: Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Mike Tyson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille, O'Neal, Muhammad Wilkerson, Bernard Hopkins, Rasheed Wallace, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
Walker also played for the Trump-owned New Jersey Generals.
In August, Walker told USA Today that Trump is his "frontrunner."
"There's not a doubt in my mind right now he is my frontrunner," Walker told USA Today. "I'm not going to say anything negative about him because it's not true."
"When are we going to get back to what's best for this country?" Walker told USA Today. "I think that's what's Donald is pushing to do."
On Dec. 7, Trump called for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslims entering U.S.
Walker totaled 8,225 yards and 61 touchdowns on 1,954 career carries. In 12 seasons, Walker also scored 21 receiving touchdowns and two touchdowns on kick returns. Walker played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, until he retired at 35-years-old.
