Penn State coach James Franklin and Texas coach Charlie Strong were mentioned on lists of possible replacements for the sudden vacancy at Miami, but both emphasized this week that there is no interest on their part in the job.
Miami has an opening after Al Golden was dismissed Sunday following the Hurricanes' 58-0 loss to Clemson.
"Let me say this ... I don't like it," Franklin said Tuesday at his weekly news conference in State College, Pa. "I think it causes a distraction for our team, a distraction for Penn State. And I have no idea where it's coming from whatsoever.
"My family has sacrificed, I've worked my --- off to get to Penn State. To get here. And this is where I want to be."
Franklin left Vanderbilt in January 2014 for Penn State after Bill O'Brien departed for the Houston Texans. He has a six-year contract that with total compensation will be worth about $4.1 million this season.
If Franklin were to leave for another job, there would be a $5 million buyout.
Strong faced the Miami question to start his weekly news conference on Monday in Austin, Texas.
"No, I'm not going to Miami," Strong said. "I have a great job. I've got to get things done here."
