By Alex Butler

NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- It's out with the new and in with the newer for the New York Jets. On Friday the Jets made a splash by trading for Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Now the Jets are expected to release Percy Harvin, who came to New York last season after a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Harvin had 29 receptions for 350 yards and one touchdown in eight games last season.

Harvin was drafted No. 22 overall in 2009 and played four years in Minnesota before being traded to the Seahawks in 2013.

The 26-year-old has 332 receptions for 3,802 yards and 21 receiving touchdowns in six seasons. The dynamic special teamer also has 885 rushing yards, five rushing scores, and five kick returns for touchdowns.

Harvin is scheduled to make $10.5 million, non-guaranteed, next season. If the Jets cut Harvin, they would save $2.8 million in cap space, but lose fifth-round and sixth-round draft picks, according to NJ.com.
