June 1 (UPI) -- Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid was listed as doubtful for Game 5 against the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday night because of right knee soreness.

The 76ers also listed guards Seth Curry (left ankle sprain) and George Hill (left knee contusion) as probable on Tuesday's official injury report.

League sources told ESPN and NBC Sports Philadelphia that Embiid underwent an MRI on his right knee Tuesday. According to the outlets, the four-time NBA All-Star selection is expected to be evaluated further before Wednesday's game, but doctors are optimistic about his long-term health in the playoffs.

Embiid sustained the knee injury after a hard fall that knocked him out of the 76ers' 122-114 loss to the Wizards in Monday night's Game 4.

The 27-year-old Embiid collapsed to the floor after he made contact with Wizards center Robin Lopez near the rim. Lopez made a clean block on Embiid's shot, but the All-NBA big man lost his balance on the way down and crashed onto the floor.

Embiid grimaced in pain, but he remained in the game after a timeout and finished the first quarter. After checking out of the contest in the closing seconds of the first frame, he departed to the locker room with a slight limp and never returned.

The 2021 MVP finalist recorded eight points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal in the first quarter against the Wizards. He went into the game averaging 30 points on 67% shooting in the first-round playoff series.

The Sixers hold a 3-1 lead over the Wizards in the best-of-seven series.
