Warriors rookie James Wiseman dunks on 7-foot-2 Bol Bol

Jan. 15 (UPI) -- James Wiseman -- the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft -- took flight for a monster slam dunk on 7-foot-2 center Bol Bol in a Golden State Warriors loss to the Denver Nuggets.

The dunk came in the third quarter of the 114-104 setback on Thursday at Ball Arena in Denver.

The Warriors trailed 67-54 with 10:49 remaining in the frame when Wiseman caught a bounce pass from guard Stephen Curry at the top of the key. Wiseman then took one dribble before he elevated through the paint.

Bol put his long arms on Wiseman in an attempt to slow down the rookie, but Wiseman was too strong. The Warriors center disregarded the taller defender and used his left hand to reach over Bol and smash the ball through the rim.

The Warriors cut the Nuggets lead to five points in the third quarter, but could not complete the rally.

The Warriors (6-6) face the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. EST on Monday at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Nuggets (6-6) host the Utah Jazz at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday at Ball Arena.
