Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Forward Mario Hezonja smashed in one of the best dunks of the night, throwing down a nasty finish in the New York Knicks' loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Marquese Chriss played the victim of the aerial assault in the second quarter of the Cavaliers' 107-104 triumph on Monday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers led 34-28 when Knicks guard Dennis Smith Jr. flipped a pass out to Hezonja on the left side. Hezonja immediately charged into the paint.
Chriss stepped over to defend but was no match for Hezonja's physicality. Hezonja elevated and cranked the ball back in his right hand before throwing the one-handed dunk through the rim with authority.
Hezonja scored five points and had five rebounds in the loss. Kadeem Allen scored a game-high 25 points for the Knicks. Knicks center DeAndre Jordan notched another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the setback.
Collin Sexton led Cleveland with 20 points. Larry Nance Jr. netted 15 points and had 16 rebounds in the victory.
The Cavaliers host the Brooklyn Nets at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Cleveland. The Knicks host the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
