Kings broadcasters go bonkers on Bogdan Bogdanovic buzzer-beater

Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The Sacramento Kings' broadcast team went wild on the call of Bogdan Bogdanovic's buzzer-beating 3-pointer against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Former Kings star Doug Christie and Grant Napear were on the call during the dramatic 117-116 victory on Thursday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif.

The Kings trailed the Lakers 116-114 with less than five seconds on the clock during the possession. Nemanja Bjelica threw in a pass from the sideline to find the Kings guard at the top of the 3-point arc. Bogdanovic caught the pass and dribbled against Tyson Chandler before stepping in for a fake. He then stepped back and launched a deep trey.

The buzzer sounded as the ball fell through the net. Bogdanovic knew the shot was going in from the moment he released the ball. He jogged to the other end of the court as he watched the shot go in.

While the arena was obviously going crazy for the home squad, Christie and Napear matched the intensity.

"Bogdanovic, three seconds," Napear said on the NBC Sports broadcast. "Bogie, for the win!"

"Bogdan Bogdanovic," Napear screamed, as Christie stared in a stunned fashion.

"Pack em up and send em home, Grant Napear," Christie said.

"If you don't like that, you don't like Kings basketball," Napear added. "Oh boy!"

Bogdanovic had a team-high 23 points, including his game-winning trey. De'Aaron Fox had 15 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in the win. Kyle Kuzma paced the Lakers with a game-high 33 points.

"That's the shot I've really worked on," Bogdanovic told reporters. "Believe it or not, I've worked on it every time. I always believe nothing comes with luck. Everything is dedication and hard work."

"As soon as I released it, I knew."
