Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Golden State Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins remains on the mend after an Achilles injury, but he showed how well his rehab process is going against Kevin Durant.

The four-time All-Star got the best of Durant in a 1-on-1 matchup during practice on Friday with a thunderous dunk that sent the 2014 NBA MVP to the floor after he attempted to contest the slam.

Durant described Cousins' dunk in the friendly matchup a little differently.

"Travel," Durant commented under a post on Instagram that showed the dunk.

Cousins had a different opinion and responded with a post on social media that showed Durant on his phone in the locker room and told him to hit the showers.

"Bro, take yo [expletive] in the shower and stop writing 'travel' on every [expletive] post," Cousins said to Durant in the video. "Go get in the shower, bro."

"I was gonna block that [expletive] and you traveled," Durant retorted.

The two Golden State stars having a light-hearted competition is a welcome sight for the Warriors. Cousins is back to training at full speed as he nears a return to the court.

He suffered a torn Achilles in January and missed the remainder of last season. Cousins then agreed to a one-year, $5.3 million deal in July with the Warriors. He has yet to touch the floor with the team and the timetable for his return is still unknown.

Meanwhile, Durant is playing at a high level this season with 28.8 points per game, 7.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 32 games.

Golden State (21-11) currently sits at third in the Western Conference. The Warriors play the Dallas Mavericks (15-15) on Saturday at Oracle Arena.
