Kawhi Leonard throws down dunk on Pacers big man

Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Kawhi Leonard helped the Toronto Raptors rally from a 17-point deficit against the Indiana Pacers with a gigantic fourth quarter slam.

The dunk came with about six minutes remaining in the Raptors' 99-96 victory on Wednesday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The Raptors trailed 90-83 when Pacers forward Thaddeus Young picked Leonard up defensively at the top of the 3-point line.

Leonard used a hesitation move to get by Young's left hip, flashing into the paint with his dribble. He then came up on the 6-foot-11 Domantas Sabonis, who was standing under the rim for the Pacers. But Leonard didn't stop his momentum. He picked the ball up and pulled it back with his left hand, before stuffing in a dunk on top of the Pacers big-man.

Fred VanVleet made a 3-pointer to close the gap to two points with 5:23 remaining. The Raptors later took a 97-96 advantage on another VanVleet 3-pointer with 26 seconds remaining and did not give up the lead.

Leonard scored a game-high 28 points and had 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Raptors. Victor Oladipo led the Pacers with 20 points. Sabonis had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Leonard is averaging a career0high 26.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in his first season in Toronto.

The Raptors host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 p.m. on Friday in Toronto.
