The downtown heave occurred with just 5.6 seconds remaining in the Nuggets' 106-103 victory on Monday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The Nuggets led 104-103 when Jokic caught an inbound pass from forward Paul Millsap in the final seconds.
Jokic ran out of the paint to receive the pass before turning back toward the basket on the left flank. He lifted the ball over his head as he was defended by Kawhi Leonard.
Leonard was called for a non-shooting foul, but Jokic threw up a shot anyway. The two-handed toss flew toward the rim as Jokic's eyes went toward the sideline. The ball swished through the net before referees waved off the three points.
Jokic recorded his second triple-double of the season in the victory, netting 23 points with 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the Nuggets. Leonard scored a game-high 27 points and had eight rebounds for the Raptors.
"I was just playing good," Jokic told the Nuggets website. "The game was kind of going in my way and I just enjoyed it a little bit. I didn't make my big shot down the stretch. I was shooting the ball and just trying to win."
The Nuggets are on a six-game winning streak entering a matchup against the Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Amway Center in Orlando. Toronto hosts the Philadelphia 76ers at 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Toronto.
