Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Rookie Luka Doncic got two blocks on LeBron James during the same possession in the first quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' win against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers trailed the Mavericks 21-11 with 5:16 remaining in the opening frame during the sequence on Friday at Staples Center in Los Angeles. James ran under the basket and received a pass on the baseline. He tried to put up a shot with his back to the basket, but Doncic jumped up and blocked the attempt.

James caught the ball and immediately went up for another shot, but the rookie got another rejection on the "King."

The Mavericks then took off with the ball in transition.

"He actually came out of nowhere to get the double block on me," James told reporters. "It wasn't even his man he covered for. I told him 'I didn't even see you on both attempts."
