Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Jimmy Butler is fitting in just fine with the Philadelphia 76ers, but his 3-pointer to beat the Brooklyn Nets helped his cause even more.

Butler banged in from distance as the seconds faded from the clock in Sunday's 127-125 victory at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The four-time All-Star -- who joined the team in a Nov. 12 trade -- took an inbound pass from J.J. Reddick as the Sixers trailed 125-124 with less than 10 seconds remaining. He dribbled up on Rondae Hollis-Jefferson from out beyond the 3-point line.

Butler eventually did a jab step to his right, forcing Hollis-Jefferson inside the 3-point line and creating just enough space to get off a shot. He heaved up the shot while fading away near the Nets bench.

His hand lingered in the air as the ball hovered before dropping through the net, leaving just 0.4 seconds on the clock.

"This group of guys, they instill the most confidence in me to take big shots like that late," Butler told NBC Sports. "In the end, we finally decided to get some stops. That was the way to win the game."

Butler scored a team-high 34 points and had 12 rebounds in the victory. He made 5-of-6 attempts from 3-point range. He made all four of his 3-point attempts and all seven of his field goal attempts in the fourth quarter.

D'Angelo Russell scored a game-high 38 points and had eight rebounds and eight assists for the Nets.

The Sixers host the New York Knicks at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
