Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Vince Carter scored his 25,000th point the only way Vince Carter knows how: on a powerful dunk.

The jam came in the final seconds of the Toronto Raptors' 124-108 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Atlanta trailed 124-106 with about five seconds remaining when Carter put up a baseline jump shot. The attempt rattled off of the back iron and rolled down, where it was eventually recovered by Hawks guard Kevin Huerter.

Carter was looping around the play as the ball was batted around. He curled through the paint and received a bounce pass from Huerter. Carter then jumped up and slammed the ball through the rim with both hands, with less than a second left on the clock.

"What a way to accomplish it," Carter told Fox Sports after the game. "It got to the point where I was just pressing because I just wanted to get it over with. It's a special moment. I definitely knew about it. You hear about it and you can't help it. But I just try to play for the good of the team and not worry about that."

The dunk gives Carter 25,001 points for his career. He had 14 points in the loss. Jeremy Lin paced the Hawks with 26 points. Jonas Valanciunas led the Raptors with 24 points.

The Hawks host the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Atlanta.
